Polish Night Out

Today the Events team went on our cultural night out. We went to a Polish restaurant called Ognisko (in South Kensington) and had a really awesome time. The food was sooo delicious. My favourite was probably the dumplings from the starter closely followed by the apple fritters.

I also chose a Polish beer -- this was honey beer. It was really nice with a subtle honey hint. It comes from the city of one of the event girls, so it's pretty cool to be able to share a part of their culture together.

The three-course dinner was only £30 a head and it was excellent value as the portions were generous!

We had a sharing starter of the items below:
Pork and veal dumplings. Yum.

Chicory salad.

Smoked salmon and herring.

Lamb meatballs (with pinenuts!!!) and hummus.
For the mains we chose an option from the menu. I had the salmon. Then there was a sharing side of potato and beans.

Sharing sides. Beans and potato.

Salmon. It was so well cooked!

Apple Fritters -- these were awesome!
So yeah. I'm home now blogging this feeling like I'm going to explode. I'm going to lie down now and try to digest that marvelous feast.
