Basil and raspberry cocktail

The other day we had an event where the client had a sponsor providing Sipsmith Gin. My challenge was to create a nice cocktail that looked/tasted good, was easy to make and was cost effective with ingredients (as the event was pretty much for free). I talked to a bar tender downstairs and we came up with something based off a bramble, it probably already exists in the cocktail world but I don't know what it is called. Anyway, here was my process:

I created a basil infused gomme by literally boiling basil in water and adding an equal ratio of sugar (1:1 ratio water/sugar). The gomme helps make the cocktail taste sweeter. When it came to mixing all the ingredients I used these measures:

50ml Sipsmith Gin
25ml Chambord (raspberry liqueur)
15ml Lemon juice
And a dash of the basil infused gomme syrup
Top with sparkling water.

For presentation, I put them in the jam jar glasses (mason jar glasses) and garnished with basil. I also used crushed ice opposed to cubes.

It was super popular and I think it was delicious (if I do say so myself).
